Isn’t it every child’s dream to get completely mucky and no parent reprehend them, at even actively encourage them? This is just what we do when we let the kids go mud sliding at Burnham Overy Staithe in North Norfolk.
Burnham Overy Staithe is a river which spreads out into a series of creeks and salt marshes before the sea. This provides the perfect opportunity as the tide comes in and out for some seriously, squelchy, fun-inducing, glorious MUD!
The kids had found a little slide, which provided the ideal launch pad into the pit of mud.
After the kids have received their luxury mud treatment, they can wash off in the main channel: A must before getting back in your car!
There is a free car park at Burnham Overy Staithe, and often a van selling snacks or ice cream. However, it’s always wise to take your own snacks and water. Of course, if all fails there’s the Hero pub for restorative pints for the adults!
