Last night we went along to Lambeth Fireworks in Brockwell Park and in a word it was superb!

The theme was ‘At the Movies’ and the most awesome firework display was set along to a wonderful soundtrack. You couldn’t help but sing along ‘Time of your Life’, ‘Grease Lightening’ and ‘Let it go!’, interspersed obviously with some ‘oohs’ and ‘ahhhhs’. More to the point, I also got to play around with the long exposure on my camera!

One of the best things about Brockwell Park, is the far-reaching views: You can see The Shard, London Eye and the lights of the city. Added to this, we could see the firework displays as they happened around London – several fireworks shows for the price of one!

Before and after the fireworks, live bands were playing, so once the fireworks stopped we danced on. It had a real feel of a festival, there is little that is as much fun as dancing in a muddy field with your family, believe me!

There’s also a fun fair and street food stalls – although beware, the queues were long. Obviously, there’s also a bar for firework-watching hydration.

I cannot recommend this event enough, it really is a party worth going to.

We were given complimentary tickets to this event, but all opinions and images are my own
