Hello, my name is Louise and I’m a florist ….. It feels rather like a mini confession really, but it something that I want our wonderful readers to know. Before I picked up a camera, I was (and still am) a florist. I LOVE flowers – everything about them. Their colour, their shape, their texture, their scent. Everything about them makes my heart sing and soothes my soul. Nothing makes me happier than to work with Mother Nature’s beautiful bounty and create something gorgeous and now, being a photographer too, I have the added delight of being able to photograph them. And boy, oh boy, do I love what I do and do what I love!
We all love fresh flowers from a florist – in fact, nothing beats their beauty and quality but not all of us have a local florist (we are a dying breed you know!) or can find the time to visit one further afield. Not only that, with today’s difficult financial climate, we may not have the spare cash to spend on what is seen as an indulgence and luxury.
So that’s where Bouquets and Blooms come in – my new business that will not only offer the most beautiful fresh and real touch wedding and event flowers, but also help you to get your floral funk on. I want to make everyone’s world just that little bit better by having flowers in their lives and by helping you to make your pennies go that bit further I think I’ve found a way.
From J’Adore La Maison’s gorgeous mini studio in the historic village of Wickham, I will show you how to transform your rather tired and boring looking bunch of supermarket flowers into an elegant vase design, a fabulous gift or a colourful table centre ready for your dinner party. I will be adding some easy, step by step ‘How to Guides’ in the future, so watch this space. We also offer the DIY Bride a full day workshop on how to design and create her own wedding flowers …. But that’s another story ….
Here are a few images I took whilst I was prepping for my first workshop. You will be amazed at what you can create with just a little bit of insider knowledge, a humble bunch (or two) of supermarket flowers and a whole heap of imagination.
First things first – always have the right tools and gorgeous accessories to hand ….
These are the supermarket bunches before I got my hands on them …
And then, before you know it, you’ve transformed them into these cute designs ready to give away as a gift or adorn your home ….
I just love what I do – not only do I get to play with flowers … I then get to take photographs of them

Love and blue skies
