When my daughter was a little child, we could not get rid of her cradle cap. Someone suggested using only organic products on her. Anything was worth a go, so I took the plunge and I discovered a brand called Green People. It was the start of a beautiful relationship!

The children use the bubble bath, shampoo and conditioner, and I am a big fan of the tinted moisturiser, facial oil and I love the lip primer. The products are not in the cheap bracket, but not over-the-top expensive either. the best thing, though, is the value for money – the products last a good long time, and you only need small quantities to get good results.

This year, Green People celebrated their 20th anniversary. 20 years ago, Green People were ahead of the curve: A company which promised never use aggressive ingredients or synthetic chemicals such as sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS), parabens, phthalates, petrochemicals, alcohol (ethanol) or synthetic fragrances or colourants, and to never test on animals. Also, the founder, Charlotte Vohtz makes sure that her organic products always contain more than 90% of natural and organic ingredients. I was shocked to find out that often ‘organic’ products can contain as little at 1%.

This year, to celebrate their 20th anniversary, I attended a lovely get together on the roof terrace of Ham Yard Hotel. I finally met their PR, gorgeous Romy, and she introduced me the fabulous Special Edition collection in Damask Rose and Orange Blossom they have bought out especially for the 20th Anniversary.

The Orange Blossom is designed to promote a feeling of joy and confidence, while alleviating stress and anxiety, whereas the Damask Rose for its calming aroma that evokes a feeling of peace and happiness while helping to soothe and uplift the mind.

After quaffing some lovely champagne and some delicious canapés, I was sent on my way with a goodie bag, with three products from the range to try out.

Orange Blossom Exfoliator

Exfoliating is an underrated experience – we should all do it more! This exfoliator is very gentle exfoliator; it doesn’t feel harsh at all on the skin. However, after use my skin felt brighter and looked fresher. As with all Green People products, I didn’t feel I needed to apply a lot to get an effect.

Damask Rose Hand Cream

This is a rather gorgeously-scented hand cream which is the perfect pick-me-up for dry hands. It smells so gorgeous, I often find myself pausing and taking inhalations after I’ve applied it – perfect to take a moment just for me.

Velvet Matte Lipstick

green people 20th anniversary, damask rose velvet lipstick,

As far as make up goes, I keep it as natural as possible. Therefore, this lippy is a perfect shade as it’s a nude with the prettiest of pink hints. Often I find lipsticks drying, but as this is enriched with vitamin e, it feels more like a nourishing lip balm.
