Today we’re delighted to be sharing a campaign from the team at World Vision.
When my first husband died in 1994 as 28 year old widow I experienced a bewildering drama of emotions. One of the first and foremost of these were the feelings surrounding the loss of our chance to have a child. I knew my husband had desparately wanted to be a father. As a living memorial I decided to sponsor a child through World Vision. I was linked with Ronald in Kenya who was 5 years old in 1994 and for 19 years I have been able to give a little something to him, his family and his community. Of course, the peace and hope that working with World Vision has given me has been immeasurable.
I would be so glad if you would join with me in World Vision’s night of hope by carving a heart into a pumpkin. . The World Vision team have put together a fabulous pack which you can download here http://www.worldvision.org.uk/get-involved/night-hope/#form. Everyone who downloads their pumpkin carving guide can enter a prize draw to win a cookery class with celebrity chef, Lesley Waters.
Here’s my pumpkin!
and here are some that Lesley Waters carved earlier!
